Phara G. Rodrigue is the Vice President of Certification at the Society of Defense Financial Management (SDFM), formerly known as the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC). Since 2012, she has led the strategy, development, and governance of SDFM’s credentialing programs, including the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certification and related specialty examinations. Her work ensures the program remains aligned with industry standards and meets the evolving needs of the defense financial management workforce. Phara has worked in certification and licensure since 2000, holding leadership roles across healthcare, financial services, and interpreting sectors. She previously served as Director of Certification and Education at the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), Director of Certification at the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, and Associate Director of Certification Programs at the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in international business and management from George Mason University. A long-time member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), Phara has served on the program, awards, and nominating committees. She remains committed to ongoing professional engagement and advancing excellence in certification. She is married and the proud mother of two young adult children.
