Over 35 years in high-stakes testing - 3 years in personnel testing, then subsequent experience in licensure and certification test development and administration. Later work experience includes management, program development and implementation for initial licensure and certification of professionals, but also recertification, specialty testing, a portfolio system for recertification and development of longitudinal assessment recertification processes. Work has focused on public protection through licensing or certifying a variety of professions, most recently physician assistants. Retired in 2021, he currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the International Society for the Advancement of Continuing Competence (ISACC). He was elected to serve two terms on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (I.C.E.) and continues to serve on the I.C.E. Public Member Committee. In November 2022 he began serving on the Assessment Advisory Group for the Nursing Community Assessment Service in British Columbia, and in January 2023, he began serving a term as a public member on the Board of Directors for the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC). He remains interested in credentialing and public protection, and in advocating for evidence-based improvements in the measurement and enhancement of continuing competence.
